His eyes were cold and lifeless as he stared at her. “You have no idea who I am, do you?” His brow rose curiously, waiting for her answer.

She shook her head gently, fear slowly settling in her eyes. “No. I don’t.” She replied. Her feet instinctively took a few steps backwards until the back of her heels hit a wooden crate.

The male rose from his seat, centered in the room. He rubbed his chin with the pad of his thumb and let out a soft sigh. Without a word, he closed the distance between himself and the woman. He pulled down on his black suit vest, straightening out any wrinkles that may have sprung from sitting in his chair. He reached up and pressed his hand by the right side of her head, leaning his weight against the stack of heavy wooden crates.

Watching as this tall, dark, and handsome male neared her, the woman couldn’t move. Whether it was from fear or some twisted enchantment caused by the lone late night fantasies, she had no clue. Her heart thumped loudly in her chest and if she could, she would have sunk through the crates to create some sort of distance between herself and him.

She peered up into his eyes, meeting his gaze. There seemed to be no spark, no light to them, black and cold.
